Biggest fantasy football risers at every position based on the the NFL draft

With the NFL draft now behind us, we have a much better idea of what teams think of their players entering the 2024 season. These are the players who's fantasy situations appear to have improved most based on changes to their team!

Quarterbacks

✅  Caleb Williams and JJ McCarthy win landing spot roulette amongst the rookie QBs. Walter has Caleb Williams' ceiling projection as the QB7. JJ has a long way to go before he sees viability in 1QB formats, but landing in Minnesota has us more optimistic than we were a week ago.

🔥 Kyler Murray currently ranks as Walter's QB6 and is going at a discount in early Underdog drafts. He will benefit from the Cardinals landing the top weapon of the draft, as well as being another year removed from major injury.

🚀 Anthony Richardson being ranked as Walter's QB3 feels BONKERS! But there is so much to like about this profile. In the only 2 weeks where he played a majority of snaps in 2023 he finished as the QB4 and QB2. The Colts are also gifting him Adonai Mitchell, who flashed elite traits at Texas.

✅ The Cowboys have only done the boring things for their offense this offseason, but everything is pointing to another monster passing season for Dak Prescott. Between adding Guyton in round 1 to sure up protection, investing very little at the running back position, and not extending Dak beyond next season - its looking like the Cowboys and Dak will have a mutual interest in passing production.

Running Backs

📈 Ezekiel Elliot signing with the Cowboys the day after the draft bodes extremely well for his 2024 fantasy outlook. In weeks 14-18 in 2023 he had a snap share of 80% or higher, showing he can still handle workhorse volume for a considerable stretch. The Cowboys (ranked 5th in offense in 2023) will almost be forced to feed Zeke, as he is the only RB they have rostered who has ever seen significant playing time.

🎯 Brooks and Benson find themselves in strong positions to begin their careers. Both the Cardinals and Panthers offenses should see jumps in scoring. And while Chuba Hubbard and James Conner are respectable veteran backs, they're hardly its unlikely they play well enough to block rising talent. Expect these guys to make an impact sooner rather than later.

✅ White, Chubb, and Edwards find themselves with higher stock than a week ago simply because their teams did not invest heavily in running backs. Zamir White has only Alexander Mattisson (who was benched by the end of last season), Ameer Abdullah, and 6th rounder Dylan Laube to compete with for volume. Chubb will have to deal with Jerome Ford, but the team appears to still have belief in him as he rebounds from his nasty knee injury. And Edwards appears to be the primary option in the outrageous run game Harbaugh is putting together in LA.

Pass Catchers

🚀 Marvin Harrison Jr. to the Cardinals is as good as it gets in terms of draft fit for fantasy. He immediately has the opportunity to fill a massive target void in an offense supported by a very good fantasy QB.

✅ Coleman, McConkey, and Polk also enter situations without existing dominant options. If they can be consistent at the NFL level the opportunities should be there early.

⚡️ Franklin slipping to round 4 should've spelled doom for his fantasy stock but reuniting with his college QB on a team with a shallow depth chart at WR does create some hope.

📈 Whether it is Russ or Fields, Pickens should have a QB with a better vertical passing prowess than he did at any point last season. And with Diontae Johnson gone, he is without a doubt the A option.

🔥 While the Penix pick was highly controversial, it only increases confidence that London and Pitts will see improvements in production this season. If Cousins goes down, its hard to imagine Penix as a backup option won't be more appealing than Desmond Ridder/Taylor Heinicke a year ago.
